Do you have a passion for swimming that you want to share in a positive way?
Do you want to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds, and help build community?
Can you see yourself being part of a program that makes a tangible impact on the lives of participants and volunteers?

Join the team
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Swim for Refugees, which is entirely run by the time, commitment and energy of volunteers.
When you volunteer with us, you’ll be joining a team very fun, kind and awesome people (if we do say so ourselves). The volunteering commitment is one season of lessons, which lasts 6-10 weeks.
I want to volunteer!
Season 17 is coming later this year! Follow us on socials to stay up to date.
I have some questions!
Complete our Contact Form to get in touch!

Volunteer roles
We have a few volunteer positions available, have a look at them below! Just let us know what position you’d prefer at Training Day and we’ll make sure you volunteer there.
Activity Centre

Make snacks, chat with families, watch kids and play games while parents swim. Perfect if you want to join but you’re not too keen on jumping in the water.
Swim Buddy

Help out teachers in the water. You’ll need to be a comfortable swimmer – no teaching experience required!
Swim Teacher

Lead our swim lessons!
You’ll need swim teacher qualifications.
Volunteer requirements
All are welcome to come and volunteer with us! You’ll just need a Working With Children’s Check (WWCC) to have attended our Training Day and to commit to the season dates.
If you don’t have a WWCC, no worries. Bring your form to Training Day and we’ll help you complete it! Just make sure you lodge the form before lessons start, we’ll need to see your receipt!
