Swim for Refugees is a volunteer organisation that has been teaching people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds to swim in Perth, Western Australia since 2016.
Welcome to our community!

A bit about SFR…
On Saturdays, our team of volunteers teach free swimming classes for people of a refugee or asylum seeker background.
We run classes for Men and children as well as Women’s Only classes. We also host an Activity Centre with free snacks, tea and coffees for our community, where we care for kids while Mum and Dad swim.
We’re not just teaching hundreds of people to swim, we’re building a strong community of people from all over Perth and the world – we’d love to have you join in!
Join the team!
We have a team of some of the kindest and coolest people around who give up a few hours of their Saturday’s to make our program possible.
Jump in the water and teach swimming lessons, assist a swim teacher in their classes as a swim buddy or join the activity centre team and make snacks or play games while parents swim!
If you’re interested in getting involved, check out our volunteer page for more info!
