Volunteer Training Day
Date: Saturday, 31 January
Location: Victoria Park Aqualife Centre
Time: 12:30 – 3:00pm
Schedule:
12:30pm-1:30pm – Presentation *required for volunteer swim teachers, swim buddies and activity centre volunteers.
1:30pm-2:00pm – Break for snacks and to get ready to swim.
2:00-3:00pm – Swim Teaching Skills Sesh (in the water) *required for volunteer swim teachers and swim buddies.
**Please note**You must attend Training Day to volunteer with us. Reach out to us if you can’t make it in person!
Grading Day / First Week of the season
Date: Saturday, 7 February
Location: Victoria Park Aqualife Centre
Time: 1:00pm – 3:30pm
Schedule:
1:00pm – Volunteers (Swim Teachers, Buddies, and Activity Centre) arrive for a briefing
1:15pm – Participants arrive and Register
1:30pm – Safety session
2:00pm-2:45pm – Kid’s lessons/grading. Families will play games on the lawn with our volunteers while waiting for their kids to be graded
2:45pm-3:30pm – Women’s only private lessons, and Men’s lessons
Until 3:30pm – Activity Centre will be open with snacks, games, and care for kids
Every other week of the season
Dates: Saturdays from 14 February to 11 April
Location: Victoria Park Aqualife Centre
Times: 2:00pm – 3:45pm
Schedule:
1:45 – Volunteers arrive
2:00-2:45pm – Kid’s lessons
2:45-3:30 – Women’s only private lessons and Men’s lessons (held separately)
2:00-3:45pm – Activity Centre is open
